The resort was founded by Paul Toomey and Pete Seibert in 1949. Squaw Valley Resort was purchased by KSL Capital Partners in 2010 for $16 million and merged with Alpine Meadows to form Squaw Valley Ski Holdings, LLC.[1]

Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows has five bowls that combine for 2,000 acres (810 ha) of terrain at an average elevation of 8,200 feet (2,500 m). The mountain's most recognized bowl is Olympic Bowl; its steepest run is Moonshine at 60 degrees. The mountain received 1 foot (0.30 m) of snow on January 12–13, causing significant closures because so much snow fell so quickly that it overwhelmed the water resources available to keep things running smoothly at all times during normal operations or even worse if there were any emergency situation where people needed help getting out alive safely without risking their lives trying something stupid like hiking up when there's too much going on already from just trying to get around generally without worrying about other stuff bothering them too much like having enough time left over after work.

Mammoth Mountain Ski Area, California

Deer Valley Resort, Utah

Deer Valley Resort is a ski and summer resort in Park City, Utah. The resort was developed by Robert Earl Holding of Salt Lake City's American Fork Bank, whose son built a house there in 1962. It opened for skiing on December 21, 1963, with one double chairlift and four surface lifts; today, it has five surface lifts and a gondola connecting the village to the upper mountain area known as Canyons Village. In 1966, British World Cup downhill racer Billy Kidd moved to Utah. It began working at Deer Valley as an instructor until 1968, when he left for Sun Valley Ski Resort in Idaho (where he would ultimately be killed during a training run).

In 1972 Sam Boyd purchased the resort from Robert Earl Holding; under his leadership, Deer Valley became more popular than ever before, with celebrities such as Marlon Brando and Elizabeth Taylor spending time at the resort while filming movies nearby (Brando even went so far as to buy his own house at nearby Park City).
